Best Employers in Czech Republic

Finding the best job for you can be a lengthy and exhausting process. Why not to take a shortcut and go straight to the right places? If you are now asking: “Who are the best employers in the Czech Republic?”, read the findings of the biggest employers’ evaluation researches in 2016.
The results of the Universum research Best employers in each sector in the Czech Republic 2016 were issued after surveying students from Czech universities. The study was being realized throughout 6 months, from October 2015 to February 2016. Within the period Universum received over 42,000 complete employers’ evaluations. We will share with you the main findings structuring and highlighting most important parts.
We will compare the Universum’s study with a study Topzamestnavatele.cz conducted by Czech Association of Students and Graduates (Asociace studentů a absolventů) annually realized in cooperation with a research agency GFK, universities, students’ organizations, and companies among more than 10,000 participants (university students and graduates) in fall of 2015/winter 2016.
To make the results easier on eye, we divided this article into 7 parts – 7 sectors of employment: Engineering, IT, Business / Commerce, Health / Medicine, Law, Science, and Logistics; each of that will talk about one sector in detail enlightening its best representatives in terms of employment.
Engineering
We will start with Engineering, as Czech Republic is widely known for its achievements in this area, especially in production of heavy and general machine-building and transportation equipment.

Not much surprisingly, according to the survey, the most attractive employer in this sector is Škoda Auto (Volkswagen Group). It has been holding this title for 3 years in a row, honestly saying – since the first time this research was conducted.
The second place belongs to Siemens which is known in the Czech Republic specifically for manufacturing Prague Metro trains.
The third place is held by Honeywell, another international industrial corporation. According to the company’s website, their Czech Republic’s branch is a cornerstone of company’s global engineering strategy in Europe. Currently, company employs more than 4,000 professionals in their Prague Laboratory, Brno Design Center and 2 manufacturing sites – Aerospace in Olomouc and Environmental and Combustion Controls in Brno.

Besides machinery and transportation, Czech Republic is famous for its innovative IT technologies, in particular well known Czech antivirus producers and other software developing companies – naming just a few: 2K Czech (games including Mafia, Hidden & Dangerous, or Vietcong), AVAST, AVG, ESET, Socialbakers (Social Marketing Software), Skypicker (rout picking algorithm), and many more.
But would IT specialists prefer to work in the Czech companies or would they consider global software developers? Let’s take a look at the rankings of IT companies in the Czech Republic in terms of being good employers.

The most attractive employer in IT sector is Google. The second place is taken by Microsoft, and the last of top 3 most attractive employers in the Czech Republic in IT according to Universum research is IBM.
According to another research conducted in 2015 by Aon Hewitt, Czech subsidiary of a big international consulting and outsourcing HR company, that considered opinion of more than 20 000 employees in the Czech Republic – 14,000 regular employees, 1 950 line managers, and 250 top managers the best employers in the Czech Republic in IT are:

The most desirable company to be a part of for Medical students is IKEM (Institut klinické a experimentální medicíny) (Institute of the clinical and experimental medicine). IKEM is one of the largest specialized clinical and scientific research centres in the Czech Republic, focusing on treatment of cardiovascular diseases, organ transplants, diabetology, and treatment of metabolic disorders. Over 310 physicians and some 620 nurses care for patients at three specialized centers in Prague.
The second best employer in medical sector according to Universum research is Prague’s hospital Fakultní nemocnice v Motole.
The last employer out of 3 “most wanted” is Ústřední vojenská nemocnice – Vojenská fakultní nemocnice Praha.

Best Employers Czech Republic 2016: SCIENCEThe most attractive employer for people studying Natural Sciences is a leading non-university public research institution Czech Academy of Sciences located in Prague.
Second place is taken by Zentiva, a Czech daughter of international medical concern Sanofi focusing on developing, manufacturing and marketing pharmaceutical goods.
The last out of 3 most attractive employers for young scientists is (again) Google.
