Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented GL Accountant to join our accounting shared services team in Prague. You will be responsible for monthly closings, account reconciliations, and ensuring timely financial reporting.

Job description
- Perform accounting activities in the area of General Ledger according to corporate and local standards of the client.
- Perform duties according to the closing schedule and the task list maintained for the department.
- Follow the assigned procedures and policies of the company.
- Ensure that accounting manuals and other documentation are kept up to date, and tasks are completed on time to meet deadlines for the monthly closing process.
- Reconcile the assigned accounts.
- Keep track of operational issues with clients and organize follow-ups (IT tickets, IT access, manual journal entries, open items list, process maps, document workflow, write-off committee).
- Organize and manage internal operational issues (risk matrix updates, report on points of improvement).
- Cooperate with and provide information to stakeholders (client, auditors, authorities, HQ) as applicable.
- Handle various ad hoc questions, tasks, and projects within the company’s functional responsibility as requested by the manager.
- Provide training to newcomers or other employees in scope.
- Represent the company values.
- In case of absence of colleagues, high workload, or emergency situation, temporarily take over other roles.
- Perform other tasks as per management assignment.
Requirements
- Accounting knowledge
- Experience in GL – 3 years
- Communication skills
- Organization skills
- Computer skills – MS Word, Outlook
- Excel knowledge at an advanced level
- Knowledge of ERP systems of clients – SAP and other local accounting software
