Role Purpose

  • The role holder will design, develop, test, and maintain changes to Research’s Mercury e-mail distribution system for MiFID II compliance.

Key Accountabilities

  • Working independently, collaborating with local and remote colleagues in our global team
  • Coordinating with the broader MiFID program through the Content Segmentation/Research Unbundling stream
  • Influencing the changes necessary to achieve MiFID II compliance
  • Work with product owners and stakeholders in the business


  • Professional experience with Java (JSE, JEE) generally and Java web services + applications more specifically
    • Spring application framework
    • ORM frameworks such as Hibernate
    • Build automation/project management tools such as Maven
  • Experience with modern web UI development (HTML/CSS/JavaScript) is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of the HTTP protocol, RESTful web services, JSON and XML data formats, HTTP sessions, and basic web infrastructure (load balancers, clustering, etc)
  • Experience with version control systems like Git is necessary
  • Experience with relational database management systems like SQL Server is necessary
  • Experience with continuous integration systems like TeamCity is preferred
  • Experience in the full development lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support
