Overview

The Software Test Engineer will be part of the LSMS Research and Development group. They will be responsible for testing test state-of-the-art mass spectrometry software products particularly focused on the control software for all of the flavors of Mass Spectrometers developed by the group.

Job description

  • Participate in all phases of the software development from product definition to final release
  • Design, execute, and maintain mainly automated test procedures for a variety of Windows OS based instrumentation software products
  • Work with cross functional teams to generate requirements and develop test cases based on functional specifications and design documents
  • Able to calibrate, troubleshoot and do preventative maintenance on instruments.
  • Communicate project status and issues to other functional teams, stakeholders and management

Requirements

  • BS/MS in Computer Science/Chemistry/Bioinformatics or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience testing software for commercial applications, preferably for instrument control software products
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of software test methodologies is a plus
  • Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated technicalscientific knowledge in Life Sciences using Mass Spectrometry or similar techniques
  • Preference will be given to candidates with basic programming skills and working knowledge of testing tools like Test Complete, Selenium or similar products.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to plan and execute activities with a strong sense of urgency to deliver results
