Job description

Main goal is to establish new SSC and set up all accounting processes needed (team of 6 people at the beginning) and ensure all activities below:

– Responsible for all activities in the Accounting function (accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed asset accounting, GL)

– Month end and year end closings, including preparing accruals and balance sheet reconciliation

– Prepare for local audits and be the key contact

– Transform the Accounting function to operate in a best in class environment, utilizing automation and process improvement

– Lead and direct the Accounting staff to consistently meet deadlines and oversee with month end close, hard close and year end close

– Be a key point of contact during the audit for assigned areas

– Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure

– Work cross-functionally to maintain processes that ensure data integrity

– Serves as a technical expert for all accounting issues and works with local entities to determine appropriate account actions

– Provide customer service to both external/internal customers to resolve issues in a timely manner and maintain relationships

– Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures, including internal controls, group accounting rules and corporate compliance

– Participate in SAP system implementations and transitioning from local entity accounting to SSC

– Recruit, train, schedule, coach, counsel, and discipline staff; communicate job expectations; enforce policies and procedures

Requirements

– Degree in Accounting

– Solid understanding of SAP is a must (both as a user and in customizing)

– SSC experience in an international company

– 5-10 years of additional Finance / Accounting experience in a variety of areas, incl. tax and logistics to provide the broad based knowledge necessary

– Solid understanding of generally accepted Accounting standards, IFRS preferred

– 2-5 years experience in managing diverse teams of financial staff is essential

– Rollout/migration experience of SAP in an international company is a plus!

– Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (German would be an asset)

– Process focussed and continous improvement culture

– Strong interpersonal, supervisory and customer service skills required
