Job description

  • Key activities:
    Preparation of the VAT reports (extracting data from SAP and sanitizing the data) and
    communication with the third party VAT agents, in close collaboration with company entities
  • Performing checks in the VAT compliance process e.g. completeness and accuracy check on
    documents to support the VAT exemptions
  • Properly manage the archiving of the customs and excise documents
  • VAT accountant tasks e.g. postings on the VAT GL accounts and reconciliations, providing
    information related to VAT to the FX team
  • Coordination of payment of VAT payable and follow-up on VAT refunds
  • Follow-up on renewal of PoA’s of VAT agents
  • Assist the manager in developing and maintaining a database of the CN/TARIC codes
  • Manage monthly excise compliance in the required jurisdictions
  • Manage and supervise pre(payments) of excise duties in the required jurisdiction by
    observing the deadlines and properly communicating with all the departments/parties
    involved
  • Properly manage the archiving of the customs and excise documents
  • Monthly/quarterly and annual reporting to the indirect tax manager on the (pre) payments of
    excise duties and customs duties
  • Assist the manager with the development of group-wide performance management of the
    relevant key figures

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years EU/Swiss VAT and/or EU customs and excise compliance work
    experience in an accounting/consultancy firm or equivalent in industry
  • Commitment to self-study for the gaps in indirect tax technical knowledge and follow
    relevant training
  • Tax accounting/economical background, or tax legal background with strong interest in
    numbers
  • Able to express in English (oral and written), French and Russian is a plus
  • Strong analytical and research skills,
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft excel. Experience with SAP is a plus.
  • Ability to use IT effectively (proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and
    PowerPoint, and other software for analysing and presenting data, robotics software) is a
    distinct advantage
