Overview

Our client, an international company in the industrial manufacturing and automation sector, is looking for a PLC Software Development Engineer to join its R&D team in Prague. This role offers the opportunity to work on the development of advanced automation solutions for industrial machinery and plant control systems, from concept through to market launch.

You will be part of a collaborative international environment, contributing to innovative products while working closely with engineering teams across multiple disciplines.

Job description

  • Develop and implement PLC software solutions for industrial machinery and plant control systems
  • Participate in automation projects from concept and design through testing, validation, and product release
  • Create PLC software designs in line with technical specifications and development standards
  • Write, test, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC code
  • Identify issues during testing and incorporate findings into future software improvements
  • Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and process engineering teams
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and software feature development
  • Work with international teams and stakeholders across different business units
  • Support backlog refinement and translate feature requests into development tasks

Requirements

  • Proven experience with PLC programming
  • Strong knowledge of Siemens TIA Portal
  • Experience with Git
  • Experience working within Scrum and/or DevOps environments
  • Background in industrial automation, including process control and visualization systems
  • Good understanding of automation principles, including measurement technology, control theory, and signal processing
  • Basic knowledge of electrical circuits
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to understand and manage complex control systems
  • English proficiency at B2 level or higher
