Overview
As a key member of the Finance Operations team, the Commercial Accounting Analyst play a vital role in supporting revenue recognition and gross to net sales accounting processes. This position is essential for ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements while contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Commercial Accounting team.
Job description
- Lead activities related to commercial accounting, including sales, gross to net sales accounting, billings, deferrals, reserves, balance sheet reconciliation, sales to cost of goods sold (COGS) reconciliations, and revenue recognition for the EMEA region.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations.
- Support audit requests from the Legal Entity Controllership team, providing necessary documentation and support.
- Actively implement and standardize best practices across all regions to enhance operational efficiency.
- Generate ideas and foster continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on optimizing processes, automation, reducing waste, and enhancing overall process efficiency.
- Stay updated on industry trends, changes in accounting regulations, and the latest technologies in the field.
- Support any audit processes initiated by the Legal Entity Controllership team.
- Maintain strong internal controls to achieve “adequate” internal and external audit ratings.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on problem-solving, process improvement, and effective communication.
- Proficiency in Excel, and other Microsoft Office tools. Nice to have knowledge in SAP.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
- Solid understanding of US GAAP accounting principles is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Open to new ideas, rapid change, and the adoption of new technologies.
- Highly organized and able to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
- Nice to have is an experience in a Commercial Accounting department is desirable.
