Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Launch Engineer to support new automotive project introductions at a production plant in Poland. This is a cross-functional role with close collaboration between the plant team, R&D center, and external partners. You will be responsible for leading launch-related planning, production readiness, and ensuring smooth ramp-up into mass production.
Job description
- Support business quoting activities by providing plant-related cost and capacity information
- Lead factory cross-functional teams in cooperation with the R&D center to define capacity and process plans
- Oversee plant tooling development, validation, and equipment procurement; resolve technical and timing issues
- Coordinate plant teams to review development progress and pre-transfer issues with the R&D center
- Lead preparations for production line transfer – including layout, logistics, and turnaround equipment
- Solve on-site production issues and ensure the line meets pre-series production targets
- Oversee PPAP preparation, delivery, and approval to ensure a smooth transition to serial production
- Monitor and control project costs to stay within budget and meet profitability targets
- Maintain compliance with quality, environmental, and energy standards
- Participate in internal training as needed (e.g., first aid, safety, machine-specific qualifications)
- Perform additional tasks assigned by supervisors or the company
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or Machining
- At least 3 years of experience in engineering or project management, including 1+ year in the automotive industry
- Fluent in English and German – spoken and written
- Advanced user of MS Office, SAP, and CAD tools
- Experience with customer systems and layout planning
- Familiarity with Lean Management tools
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to relocate to Poland at own expense
